No Day But Today.

Anyone who knows me well also probably knows that my favorite quote is from a song from my favorite musical, “RENT”.

The heart may freeze or it can burn
The pain will ease if I can learn
There is no future. There is no past
I live this moment as my last
There’s only us. There’s only this
Forget regret or life is yours to miss
No other road. No other way.
No day but today

There’s only yes. Only tonight.
We must let go to know what’s right
No other course. No other way.
No day but today

I can’t control my destiny
I trust my soul, my only goal is just to be
There’s only now. There’s only here.
Give in to love or live in fear
No other path. No other way.
No day but today…

I’ve always wanted to live the Bohemian life — to not have to think of the future, to live for only today.

Unfortunately, reality makes it really hard for me (or anyone) to do this because of the social pressures of  our capitalist society. For this, I admire the courage and strength of those who follow their heart to the point where they create their own path to happiness and own definition of success.

Also, one we really cannot escape are the duties and responsibilities we have to our family — to provide for them and to give them a better life. For this, I envy the rich. (haha)

Anyway, such is life. We still can live for today by being thankful of the blessings we receive everyday and by always seizing every moment — not taking anything for granted.
