You have to learn a new skill. Do you prefer to read about it, watch someone else do it, hear someone describe it, or try it yourself?
I have always believed that experience is the best teacher.
And this has been proven true to me at learning new skills.
Watching someone else do it or hear them describe it
never really registers as much actually doing it yourself.
Sure, you understand and get the whole concept of the skill
but you are never really convinced unless you try it out.
I have proven this with all the skills I had to learn over the years.
Riding a bike.
Playing the guitar.
And even at work.
You have to…
… fall down,
… have calloused fingers,
… be flat or sharp,
… endure body pain; and
… create your own f*cked up moments.
So you can truly say you’ve learned.
