When was the last time someone told you they were proud of you?
Wow. This got me thinking really hard.
I suddenly realized that I take a lot of things for granted.
One thing is accepting compliments like people saying they’re proud of me.
Lately, I do remember most people are saying how they were proud of me that I crossed an item of my bucket list. Well, some of them didn’t even know I had a list but most people who know me knows that this was something I really wanted to do. And this is to be involved with musical theater.
Last year, I took the first (scary) steps.
I joined theater workshops.
Again, if you know me, you would know that:
– I am scared of the stage
– I hate public speaking
– I am a big introvert!
So imagine what the first few days of workshop were for me!
Little did I know that my fear would be overthrown by my passion for theater.
Getting to sing, perform on stage, and work with people as passionate as I am trumped all doubts I had.
My first summer workshop was the best summer I had in years!
It was so surreal that we couldn’t let go of each other even after months after the workshop.
Teachers were so inspiring.
Classmates were so helpful and supportive.
Getting to share with my friends and family the experience through the final showcase was doubly rewarding. And I am glad that even for those who weren’t able to go but have seen the pictures, messaged me to say that they were proud of me.
I am, too.
Here are some photos of the workshops I’ve attended.
