Far From Normal

Daily Prompt: Far From Normal

Many of us think of our lives as boringly normal, while others live the high life. Take a step back, and take a look at your life as an outsider might. Now, tell us at least six unique, exciting, or just plain odd things about yourself.

1. I don’t like dessert and sweets.

Not that I don’t eat them. It’s just I prefer eating something tart and salty than something sweet. Yes. I don’t crave for cakes, chocolates, and ice cream that often.

2. Everything spicy!

I love spicy food.

3. Tears for fiction. Scoffs at reality.

I don’t know why but I cry at almost everything I see on TV and movies. I also get super emotional just by reading books and listening to music. Even at public places (at the office or bus stop), I can’t help but cry like a lost kid after reading a touching book or listening to a heart-wrenching show tune.

4. I’m scared of everything that moves.

Cockroaches. Mice. Dogs. Cats. And, yes, people.

5. I sing out loud without noticing it.

Complete with facial expression and sometimes, even with hand gestures.

6. I love performing but I have stage fright.

Don’t ask me why.

7. I’m a self-diagnosed bipolar.

I’m super hyper one second and super depressed the next.
Super friendly one minute then super evil the next.

8. I want to experience living in the past.

Not the metaphor for past but as in the real past. Like the 1960’s or 1900’s.

9. Sneakers and Heels

Dreams of buying and wearing high-heeled shoes but can’t get enough of chucks and Doc Martens.

10. Left or Right Brain?

Math, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Electronics, Engineering!
Broadway Musicals, Movies, Fiction, Music, Guitar, Dancing, and Theater!

That’s it for now…
For those who know me, feel free to add more on the comments section. haha

Writing Room

Daily Prompt: Writing Room

A genie has granted your wish to build your perfect space for reading and writing. What’s it like?

I really had to think carefully of this wish for I would not want it to be a waste.
So I started doodling.

I am not much of an artist so all I came up with was a long reclining chair where you can also put your feet up, a table that can be moved to be placed on top of the chair and moved away if not in use, and a view of the ocean. But then taking a step back, I realized, it looked like a hospital room with the adjustable bed and the swivel-y table. It was a room in a hospital by the sea!

I laughed, tore the drawing, and thought: What the heck! This shouldn’t be so hard. Reading is one of my favorite tasks in the world. And writing has become a new passion. To be able to read and write is already perfect for me. Heck! I now read and write in a roll up bed on the floor surrounded by my favorite books and I am already in cloud nine.

Well, okay. I do wish for a better place and that would be my very own library!

  • I wish it to be surrounded by books from floor to the ceiling with a large desk in the middle– large enough to be a dining table for six!
  • On one corner is a lamp and a big lazy boy couch where I can put my feet up.
  • Also, I wish it to have a feeling of a rainy day outside — not warm but not too cold.
  • As for the view, it would be nice see nature a field of green, a big garden or the ocean perhaps.

Above all, music should not be absent from the room. Though I rarely listen to music while reading and writing, it would be a nice break and source of inspiration and motivation for doing so.

Clean Slate

Daily Prompt: Explore the room you’re in as if you’re seeing it for the first time. Pretend you know nothing. What do you see? Who is the person who lives there?

Hmm. Entering the room, I can immediately say that the person who lives here likes to read because of the books all over the place. Books on the side of the bed, on the small shelves, and even on the floor.

The person is a female because of the black pumps, red top siders and colorful sneakers strewn on one side of the floor.

She looks like she enjoys watching movies and TV shows because of the many DVDs and VCDs along side the books, which includes collection of FRIENDS, 30 Rock, and movie musicals (among others). Oh, and from her complete boxed set of The Karate Kid and Back to the Future, I would have to say she’s an 80’s kid.

From the bible, rosary, and bible diary beside her bed, I conclude she’s Catholic.

Maybe she loves the color orange. Just saying.

Finally, based from seeing her laptop, phone and ipad so near the bed, I would have to say maybe she’s an insomniac cyber geek that always checks her facebook and tweets every thing that comes to her head. Probably blogs, too. 😛
